Miniso Review: Flawless Matte Lipcream Shade 02 Strawberry Sorbet

Hey there! Who else here loves wearing natural-shaded lip cream to look fresh without looking like you're wearing any? Hehe. A couple years ago, I found a lip cream that perfectly matches what I need for casual home wear or a chill outing. It's a lightweight, nude-colored lip cream. Let's talk about which lip cream I'm referring to.

It's the Flawless Matte Lipcream from Miniso in shade 02, Strawberry Sorbet. This nude shade is super close to a natural bright lip color, perfect for those who love a subtle and non-flashy lip look.

A. Packaging

The lip cream comes in a semi-transparent plastic tube with a white cap, giving it an elegant and simple look. The packaging is plain—just the product and brand name—making it easy to spot the shade through the tube, which is handy when you're picking it out from a pile of other lipsticks.

The applicator is the same length as the tube, which is great because as the lip cream starts running out, the applicator can still reach the product stuck to the sides of the tube, so no waste!

B. How Does It Smells?

When I sniff this lip cream, it reminds me of strawberry-vanilla wafer cream. It's sweet with a slight tang.

C. Texture

Before applying it to your hand, lips, or cheeks, this lip cream is pretty thick. It's not liquidy at all, but it's super blendable.

Swatch Results

Swatch on hand

Before buying lipstick or lip cream, we often swatch it on our hands to test how quickly it dries, see if the shade suits our skin tone, or just to copy beauty influencers. I swatched this on my hand to show you the color, but honestly, I always test it on my hand first. ^^

Here's the swatch of flawless matte lipstick on my hand. It's soft and not too bold. A shade like this is a heartbreaker for a nude shade lover like me! It takes about 6 minutes to dry, so be careful if you move around a lot after swatching, or it might transfer to your clothes. Once dry, it's quite transfer-proof unless you rub it against fabric.

Swatch on lips

Before applying the lip cream, I used a lip balm to keep my lips from drying out. The matte and pigmented feel on the lips is strong but not stiff, and it's very lightweight. Does it look a bit pale? Yep, that's the look I was going for, lol.

Does it dry quickly on the lips? Surprisingly, it dries faster on the lips than on the hand (about 4 minutes). Another thing I love is that it's transfer-proof when drinking, with no lip cream marks left on the glass. However, don't expect it to stay perfect through a meal, especially something like nasi padang. You'll need a touch-up, for sure.

Swatch on cheeks as blush

For those who love using lip cream as a blush, this is great. On my slightly tanned skin, the lip cream with a hint of orange makes my cheeks look fresh and not dull. It's not too bold, just a nice, natural blush.

D. The Longevity

I tested the product's longevity both as a lip color and as a blush.

As a lip color

Over 6 hours, I had coffee and ate meatballs. It faded a bit but left a nice stain. For a refreshed look, you can just reapply without removing the old layer since it stays light and doesn't clump. It's easy to clean off with milk cleanser, though you might need two rounds with a cotton pad.

As a blush

I love using lip cream as blush because it's simple and can be applied with your fingers. On my skin, which has open pores and a tendency to get oily, it doesn't last long. The shade blends into my skin, giving it a natural blush. Retouching is easy, as it doesn't clump and stays blendable.

F. Conclusion

For a drugstore product under Rp 50,000, the Flawless Matte Lipcream is totally worth it. Besides its beautiful swatch on the lips, it's my go-to because of its super soft shade.

Honestly, I didn't expect much from this lip cream, thinking it was just a random product to color my lips, but it exceeded my expectations! If I come across this lip cream again, I'll definitely repurchase it.
